Acu-bliss... Acupuncture for stress and depression
According to an article written by Teri Goetz, MS, LAC, ACC, posted on Psychology Today, millions of people currently suffer from stress and depression, with options ranging from medication to counseling to acupuncture. Acupuncture has been extremely successful in helping people reduce their symptoms.
In Chinese Medicine, acupuncture helps correct blockages or imbalances in the organs. Western medicine shows that acupuncture releases endorphins and activates natural pain killers. Goetz mentions a sense of acu-bliss, her patients leave feeling "blissed out" after enjoying their relaxing treatment. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America states "Evidence for the use of acupuncture — the Chinese practice of inserting needles into the body at specific points to manipulates the body's flow of energy — to treat anxiety disorders is becoming stronger."
