Acupuncture and Knee Pain

Dr. Max Gomez of channel CBS 2 New York, reports that knee pain resulting from strained ligaments, cartilage tears, osteoarthritis or knee surgery can be effectively treated with acupuncture. Acupuncture treatment is not a replacement for surgery, but it does enable your brain to produce endorphin, your body's natural opiate for pain relief. Additionally, acupuncture acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, so it can decrease your pain scores after surgery. It typically takes about five treatments to get relief, but it depends on the person.
