What is this Yin that everyone is talking about? Yin is the new power yoga! In this 2 hour workshop we will explore the basic tenants and benefits of yin yoga.

Yin Yoga consists of mostly seated passive poses held for a long period of time. The goal is to transfer the stress into the deep connective tissues. Mild to moderate stress placed on the tissues and joints helps to keep them hydrated and pliable. Yin is such a great compliment to a yang style of practice!

We’ll tie in some basic concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine and how it relates to Yin Yoga. We’ll talk about mindfulness and meditation and how to approach this in your yin poses as a way to deepen the poses.

We will end the class with an extended savasana. You will leave this workshop with a new appreciation for Yin and the benefits of a consistent practice.
